XTERRA Black Mountain
May 15, 2016
As much as we are doing the happy dance for rain in Southern California, we are sad to inform you that XTERRA Black Mountain has been postponed to May 15. Please know that we realize that this is a huge disappointment and inconvenience because it is for us too. Plus, it’s fun to run in the rain. For those of you with inquiring minds that can’t understand just why this race has been postponed read below.
The most important reason is Black Mountain Ranch Park will not allow the race to take place and here is why:
- Due to mud on the course vehicles do not have access to certain parts of the course.
- prohibits the set up of water stations
- volunteers can’t get on the course.
- Road access for rescues is hampered.
- Running on extremely muddy trails actually ruins the trails and we along with the City, State and National Parks are committing to preserving the parks not ruining them.
ALL participants will automatically be transferred to the May 15 date. You have three options noted below:
- Participate in the new date of May 15 for XTERRA Black Mountain. No need to contact us.
- Transfer to XTERRA Malibu Creek, May 21st. 6k, 12, and 22k. Email Daniel@genericevents.comby April 30 to request a transfer.
- Transfer to XTERRA Laguna Beach 10k, June 5. Email Daniel@genericevents.com by April 30 to request a transfer.
Please note there will be no refunds. Requests for transfers after April 30 will not be taken into consideration. We hope you all understand and respect this decision. Please do not send us an email to complain because we will not respond.
Race #7 takes place at Black Mountain Regional Park on May 15, 2016, in the northern San Diego, just east of Del Mar. The event field is limited, so enter early! This course is great for beginners and advanced athletes with plenty of wide fire road trails and some single track sections. Add a couple of twists, turns and a small creek crossing, it’s a great one.
Please note that the course closes at 11:30 a.m., so you must finish before then!Register Now
