100k Live Runner Tracking. All 100k runners will be required to carry TrackLeader GPS tracking chips used at major endurance events across the country. Chips can be attached to hydration packs and must be returned before leaving the event. The live tracking website HERE will be live by Friday, February 27. 50k Live Runner Tracking. 50k runners can also link their inReach devices to share their live tracking link. Race results will chip-timed with race bibs and posted on UltraSignUp by 6:00pm on Saturday, February 28. 100k results will be posted by 12:00pm on Sunday, March 1. Race Bibs should be worn visibly on the front of the runner. Only runners and pacers with visible bibs will be permitted onto the course and aid stations. ———————————————— Please don’t litter!! Tejon Ranch and the Tehachapi Mountains are undeveloped, untouched and wild. Leave no trace and if you see someone else’s trash, please bring it to the next aid station. Runners caught littering will be disqualified. Cattle Gates. Tejon Ranch is a working cattle ranch and there are 20 gates on the course with event signage. They are unlocked with a simple carabiner. They must be closed securely behind you after passing. Respect the abundant wildlife living on Tejon Ranch. Always be aware of your surroundings and do not approach any animals. Runners may encounter deer, elk and wild boar, as well as potentially seeing bobcats, coyotes and even black bears. Please plan accordingly on your level of comfort and experience in the wilderness and consider carrying bells, air horns or bear spray. Dogs are allowed on-leash at the festival area and Crew Access aid station only. Dogs are not permitted on the course. ———————————————— Course markings will range from white directional signs, neon flagging and ribbons, flour arrows on the ground and cones. Nighttime markings include reflective signs and glow-sticks. The course covers remote backcountry and it will be expertly marked, however, it is your responsibility to know the course. Download the 100k 50k, 25k or 11k GPX files to your watch or phone. Aid Stations are located every 1.1-8.4 miles with water, electrolytes, medical support and radio communications. Ultra-distance Aid Stations are also stocked with everything from ice sponges and cold watermelon to heating tents and warm soup. CUP-LESS Race. There will not be any cups at aid station. A bottle/flask/bladder/cup is required for hydration at aid stations. SoCalTrail race cups will available for purchase at check-in. 16oz. Hydration Minimum. ALL 11k and 25k runners are required to carry a minimum of 16z of hydration between aid stations. Aid Station Captains may disqualify runner for failing to meet requirement. 50k and 100k Hydration Minimum. ALL 50k and 100k runners are required to carry a minimum of 32oz of hydration. Aid Station Captains may disqualify runner for failing to meet requirement. Night Lighting Requirement. All 100k and 50k runners on the course after 5:00pm are required to carry night-time lighting (headlamp/waist light/handheld torch) to continue past equipment checks at Edmonston, Crew Access, Grapevine and Homestretch Aid Stations(cell phones do not qualify). Aid Station Captains may disqualify runner for failing to meet requirement. 50k Drop Bags. 50k Drop Bags must be check-in prior to 7:30am at runner check-in. Drop bags must be checked-in by aid station and clearly labeled with bib number and aid station (Crew Access and Grapevine Peak Aid Station). Crew Access drop bags will be returned to the festival at 8:00pm, Grapevine drop bags by 11:00pm and both can be picked up until 9:00am on Sunday. 100k Drop Bags. 100k Drop Bags must be check-in prior to 6:45am at runner check-in. Drop bags must be checked-in by aid station and clearly labeled with bib number and aid station (Bear Trap, Dry Field 2, Crew Access and Grapevine Peak Aid Station). Bear Trap and Dry Field will be returned to the festival at 6:00pm, Crew Access drop bags at 8:00pm, Grapevine at 11:00pm and all can be picked up until 9:00am on Sunday. 50k and 100k Pacers. 50k and 100k runners may purchase Pacer bibs for the final 15 miles from the Crew Access Aid Station to the finish. Pre-purchase HERE. Pacers must check-in with the Crew Access Aid Station team prior to departing with their runner. Pacers can pick up their bibs from the SoCalTrail booth at the race site festival from 8:00am-6:00pm. Runners accompanied by unofficial pacers will be disqualified by Aid Station Captains. ———————————————— Runners that go off course. All runners that deviate from the official route must return where they went off the course in order to be eligible for overall and age group awards. Finish times may be subject to review following the event. Dropping from the race can only be done at aid stations. If you do not cross the finish line, please do not leave event without notifying aid stations/timers/race officials. We account for everyone on the trails. Cut-Off times are strictly enforced for everyone’s safety. Return options are determined by Aid Captains. Strict sanctions will be placed against runners that continue on their own. ———————————————— Poles are allowed. Please be careful of other runners. Ear buds should be in one ear only for your safety and others’ consideration. Spectators. Friends and family can support runners on the course at the Crew Access Aid Station HERE from 9:00am-8:00pm and track their runner HERE. The Crew Access Aid Station and the race site festival are the only location on the course for non-runners. The course is otherwise closed to the public. Cheer on your fellow runners…positivity is a performance enhancer!! ———————————————— In case of emergency, contact our Medical Director at 818-802-4873. ———————————————— Distance Changes: 1) Online. Runners can edit their distance until Thursday, February 26 at 12:00pm directly through their UltraSignup registration history or clicking Edit on your receipt email. 2) Race Morning. Must notify registration prior to desired race start. If you can no longer make the race, please cancel your registration through your UltraSignup registration history or the edit link on your receipt email. DNF’s: 1) Dropping during the race can only be done at Aid Stations with the Aid Station Captains. If you do not cross the finish line, please do not leave the event without notifying race management. We spend time and resources making sure everyone is safe and accounted for!! 2) Cut-Off times are strictly enforced for everyone’s safety. Runners must DEPART the aid station before the cut-off to continue. 3) 100k runners that do not make the Dry Field 2 cut-off at 5:00pm have the option* of continuing 4.9 miles straight to the finish for a total of 39.1 miles to still receive a 50k finisher medal.
